Bright Futures
Public Art For Growing Minds
Bright Futures is an ongoing public art initiative dedicated to bringing color, joy, and inspiration to inner-city schools. Supported this year by NEFA (New England Foundation for the Arts), the project donates large-scale murals to schools that often don’t have the resources for public art, transforming everyday walls into vibrant spaces that reflect the creativity, culture, and spirit of the students inside.

BUILDING PRIDE THROUGH COLLABORATION
Through collaborative listening sessions, children and teachers help shape the themes and designs for each mural, while local artists bring those ideas to life, assisting, designing, and installing the artwork to create a true community vision. This process not only builds pride and ownership among students but also promotes equity by intentionally hiring artists from the neighborhoods these schools serve.
PLANTING SEEDS OF CREATIVITY
I started Bright Futures because I believe every child deserves to see beauty and possibility in their learning environment. Murals can spark imagination, encourage pride in one’s school, and create a sense of belonging. This project is about more than painting walls, it’s about planting seeds of hope, representation, and creativity that students will carry with them into their futures.
UNION HILL SCHOOL | 2025 (Partial funding from WAC)
The first murals were created at Union Hill School and Belmont Street Community School, both in Worcester, MA. These murals mark only the beginning, I will continue to grow Bright Futures, bringing murals to more schools, and expanding this vision of joy, empowerment, and community pride.
